Luxury SUVs are typically more expensive than their extra-small counterparts, but they usually offer a more comfortable ride, better materials, and better performance, along with a larger cabin.

For most buyers, the base GLC 300 is the ideal choice in terms of features and value. With its mild hybrid system and 255-hp four cylinder engine, it offers improved fuel efficiency and drivability. It is available in two trims (Exclusive and Pinnacle) with several standalone options to enhance its features.

Although there were only minor updates to the previous year's model, all 2024 RDX trims now come standard with all-wheel drive.

2024 Jaguar F-PACE
Redesigned 2017
MSRP Range: $57,000 - $91,900
The 2024 Jaguar F-Pace is the largest SUV in the famed British automaker's portfolio, sitting above the smaller E-Pace. With its spacious interior and nimble handling, it straddles the line between compact luxury SUVs and midsize models. Although the F-Pace has been around since 2017, and it has received numerous updates, its age is beginning to show. This year, the lineup has been trimmed, making ordering much simpler, and several minor features are introduced.

Redesigned 2018
MSRP Range: $46,900 - $61,900

Redesigned 2018
MSRP Range: $44,600 - $67,000
The 2024 Audi Q5's handsome exterior styling, multiple powertrain options, and a wealth of standard features (including all-wheel drive) help it stand out in the highly competitive compact luxury SUV class. In addition to offering greater practicality than the Q3 and easier manoeuvrability than the larger, more expensive Q7, the Q5 is a centrepiece of Audi's crossover lineup. Despite its age, the current generation Q5 is still a goodie.

2024 BMW X4
Redesigned 2019
MSRP Range: $55,000 - $66,400
As a small luxury crossover SUV based on the BMW X3, the 2024 BMW X4 is slightly longer and lower, with a sloped roofline rather than a squared-off design. Although the X4 has a sportier, more distinctive design, it comes at the expense of passenger and cargo space. Additionally, a similar X3 costs thousands less than an X4; other than minor equipment differences, these BMWs are the same thing wrapped in different packaging.

2024 Porsche Macan
Introduce in 2015
MSRP Range: $60,900 - $86,800
The Porsche Macan is a top choice among SUVs for its impressive handling and powerful V6 engine. It provides a driving experience that goes beyond the typical utility vehicle. Little is expected to change for the 2024 model, but there is much speculation surrounding the upcoming generation of the Macan, which will likely be all-electric. If these rumours hold, then the current gas-powered version will have its last year in 2024 before the electric version debuts in 2025.
