Chevy has completely revamped the Equinox for 2025, giving its compact SUV a bold new look reminiscent of the larger Traverse. Inside, the transformation is just as dramatic with a sleek refresh that includes a new centre console and a chic dashboard flanked by eye-catching circular air vents. At the heart of the cabin, an 11.0-inch digital gauge display and an 11.3-inch touchscreen stand out, offering user-friendly access to the Google-powered infotainment system. Beneath the revamped, chiselled hood, the latest Equinox boasts an enhanced version of the previous model's turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, paired with a smooth continuously variable automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive comes standard, there's an option for all-wheel drive, which interestingly replaces the CVT with a more conventional eight-speed automatic gearbox. Poised to ignite its fourth generation in the 2025 lineup, the new Equinox is expected to roll into Chevy showrooms by late 2024.

Beneath the surface of the Equinox lies a robust turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, generating 175 horsepower. Equinox models equipped with front-wheel drive are paired with a seamless continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), while those preferring all-wheel drive will benefit from an eight-speed automatic transmission. We've yet to personally put the new Equinox through its paces, but our preliminary assessment suggests that its performance may not lead its segment. For context, a prior version of the Equinox, the 2023 model sporting all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic, clocked a 0 to 60 mph time of 8.0 seconds.
